Welcome to the Finnish School of Munich!

The Finnish School of Munich was founded to serve the needs of the Finnish speaking children and teens in the Munich area. Our goal is to teach, preserve and enrich the Finnish language, culture and traditions. In our school the children learn to appreciate their heritage, get more information about Finland and enhance their language skills in a positive Finnish speaking environment.

We welcome all ages from birth to teens! Younger students learn with their parents in playgroups through songs and games. Older students learn through reading, writing and drawing in classrooms with their teachers.

Furthermore we celebrate the main Finnish holidays and organize all kinds of events. The Finnish School of Munich is a great place to meet other parents and make connections to other Finnish speaking families.

Our Wednesday classes meet at the Theresien-Gymnasium (Kaiser-Ludwig-Platz 3) from 4:30 to 6 pm.  The Saturday classes (for ages 11 and older) meet biweekly at the Grundschule Alfonsstrasse 8 (Pavilion) from 1:00 to 3 pm. We also have classes at the MIS (Munich International School) in Starnberg.

We are a registered non-profit organization supported mainly by the Ministry of Education of Finland.
